Bring Your Articles Back To Life

Revitalize dying articles. As you continue to write, create and expand your online presence, it's important not to forget about older articles that don't attract visitors the way they did before. Adding relevant backlinks and content then resubmitting the article's URL to the major search engines informs the search engines that you have added content.

I've taken the time the past few weeks to bring older articles back to life and the instruction I suggested above does work. I check my stats and have seen many of my articles, blogs and websites start to receive traffic again. Don't let all your hard work die. Revitalize to help your Internet Writing Business continue to expand and grow.

Does Adding Content Help?

Hello Hubbers,

I've been a member of Hubpages since January 2009. When I first joined and started to write here at Hubpages I had no clue how Hubpages would help me reach my goal of earning money online but I enjoyed it so I continued to write, continued to learn and continued to make many mistakes.

Mistakes help us to learn and over time makes us better.

When I first started to write I wrote constantly. I just kept writing about what I wanted to write about but when I was finished writing a Hub I simply left it. I didn't think much about what I wrote yesterday because I was so focused on writing about new topics and creating as many Hubs (URLs) as possible. I was going through the steps of the learning process. I felt the more I write the more I can earn. I happen to agree that the more we write the more we can earn but now I understand how to write better hubs that are search engine friendly. Learning how to write for better SEO. Search Engine Optimization.

Through Knowledge See Power

Through Knowledge See Power

Many years ago I worked at this hometown bar part-time for many years and there was this man who was always there hanging out. He loved to drink and play darts. Anyway, this man was very educated. He definitely was naturally book smart. He was in the Vietnam and was a police officer for twenty-five years. To this day I still see him around occasionally.

Throughout the years of working in this hometown tavern, I hung out with this man often. We had drinks with the gang and played darts till early morning several days a week. We all had a lot of fun but throughout that fun this man taught me a whole lot. I didn't realize all of the stuff he used to preach to me over and over and over again would come to light in my life. All of a sudden I see the light. I get it. Through Knowledge sea (see) power. I get it, do you?

The point I'm trying to get across to you is that we all must do in order to learn. We all must go through the learning process to get where we want to be. We all must make the mistakes in order to reach our goals. I wanted to start an Internet Business and I did but I did not know it would take me years to master it. I never thought I would say it has taken me five plus years to learn what it takes to earn good steady money online. Through my knowledge I now can say I am the master of my Domain. I experienced which gave me the knowledge which is helping me earn more revenue every single day. The knowledge has given me power.

Back To Content

Over the past few months I have visited my old Hubs. Hubs which have not received traffic in a very long while but do offer good helpful tips with good advice.

Over time I realized that I needed to update some of my Hubs. Many of my older Hubs offered partial guidance to help people grow an Internet Business writing online. So I thought to myself, why not add content with updated information instead of focusing on writing new Hubs. I felt I should add content to old Hubs and over time the Hubs will have more informative content. After practicing this technique I would then resubmit the URL of the Hub to the search engines. Whenever I add content to old Hubs I resubmit them manually to search engines to speed up the process of getting indexed by the search engines. The technique works. I found that the more content I added the better my chances were of receiving a higher ranking within the search engines. Many times I have found my Hubs, blogs and websites which I have added content to on page one, two and three within the major search engines. It really works.

I have read time and time again how search engines are attracted to lengthy informative content. But unless you practice what is preached to you over and over again, this is how we all truly grasp how to get indexed by the major search engines. I learn by doing. I'm not someone who can simply be told what to do and just go do it. I learn by doing and because I kept doing what I was told over and over again, I finally get it. I now understand how many people who have only a handful of Hubs, blogs or websites get the traffic we all desire. I understand why those people tell me and others how they earn good steady revenue from a few dozen Hubs, blogs or websites. They create a foundation and continue to grow them all. Those very successful people know exactly what needs to be done to stand out from the rest.

I truly believe that someday I will become one of those people who earn hundreds of dollars per day writing online. OK, the more I write the more I can earn BUT I did not realize the more content I add to already created Hubs the more traffic I will receive and the more money I can make.

The Work Becomes Timeless

Here is another take on how to earn more money from previous work. Every time I add content to Hubs which are timeless, over time that timeless content will come back to me tenfold.

For an example, I wrote a Hub about alcoholic beverage recipes. The recipes are never going to change BUT over time I can easily add new alcoholic beverage recipes which makes the Hub more attractive to search engines. Another important fact I learned is the longer the URL floats out on the web the chances of getting indexed by the major search engines is even better. Over time I will add new alcoholic cocktail recipes to the alcoholic beverage Hub. When new cocktail recipes are created I will simply add to the Hub. Timeless work increases our chances to succeed online drastically. Impressive? It should be.

Another timeless topic I decided to write about was different lettuce leafs. It might not sound so exciting to read a Hub about different kinds of lettuce leafs but the Hub is timeless and over time I can add to it. The Hub describes the different tastes and textures of lettuce leafs. I found it interesting enough to write about so I'm sure someone else will find the information useful too. I also describe the vitamins and the antioxidants the lettuce leafs offer. It's timeless. Lettuce is not going to change. It is what it is. The saying fits.

Here is one more example to how important writing about timeless topics can be to your growing Internet Business. I wrote a Hub about different cuts of beef. Another timeless topic and I can always add to it if need to be. I'm sure I'll learn some important fact to add to the Hub about different cuts of beef. It's an interesting and timeless topic. Oh, I also learned tidbits of information about beef. Why certain beef cuts are so tender and how to cook an inexpensive tough cut of beef. It matters, it's timeless and it's interesting. Again, it is what it is. The saying fits.

I Will Add Content To This Hub In The Future

Adding content to already existing Hubs is a great way to expand and grow. Long, good and informative content matters and it especially matters if your Hub is about a timeless topic.

I'll be back in the future to add to this Hub. I'm sure over time I'll learn more ways to help myself and many others how to grow a successful online business.

You are so right. It seems the longer hubs get more traffic than short hubs of two paragraphs, like you say the more we do the more we learn. Less long hubs will get more traffic than many short hubs. Keep following your path and your income will surely grow.

I like your thought process. On my way to check out your site, but in the meantime . . . Would you like to teach an old dog a new trick? At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, can you tell me how you submit a hub manually to search engines? Perhaps you have written a hub about it?

Great information for this relatively new hubber. I'm still finding my way through this system, making mistakes along the way - but learning - and trying not to accidentally publish a work in progress! Great tips.
