Make Your Channels Work To Your Favor

Hello Folks,

OK, the topic of discussion is Make Your Channels Targetable . Why? Because you want advertisers to bid on your real-estate space at your websites.

I understand many of you article writers don't create websites to manually create Adsense Ad and Link Units to sell real-estate space. Article writers know the more they write the more they can earn. I'm an article writer but I have been creating free websites to learn the next level of earning more Adsense revenue. I truly find it interesting and challenging and enjoy incorporating revenue sharing websites within my free websites. I promote the Adsense revenue sharing websites in the hope of getting people to click on my referral links and join. When I recruit new members and those new members start to write articles I earn extra Adsense revenue. It all adds up folks.

OK, lets get back to targeting channels. Having advertisers compete for your real-estate space on your website can drastically increase your Adsense revenue . It took me a very long time to understand this so if your new to manually creating Adsense Ad and Link Units, I suggest you keep practicing and learning. Over time you'll be happy you did.

There are two types of channels that I am aware of. The first one is URL Channels and the second one is Custom Channels . You want to make your channels targetable. Think about this. You work very hard to create a few websites. You choose the format, you write good content then you get to the fun part of embedding Adsense Ad and Link Units onto your website to earn revenue from impressions and clicks. Creating your own websites and embedding the Ads onto them yourself will let you earn all of the revenue generated.

When you create Adsense Ads within your Adsense account your asked if you would like to create a channel. I can tell you from experience that you do want to create a channel because once the Ad is up on your website you will then go back into your Adsense account, go to Adsense Setup, click on channels and once there you will see all of the channels your created while you were creating your Ads. You will then click edit settings, check the targeting box, choose the location (where the ad is placed on your website) then write a description about your website. Click on save channel and over time advertisers will be informed, by Adsense, where you placed the Ad and Link Units and how many views/visits your website receives. The more traffic you receive and the placement of the Ads matter to advertisers.

If your still learning I'm sure your confused about all the information I shared with you here. I still have a lot to learn but I have learned creating good quality websites that receive views everyday and have Adsense Ads on them can drastically increase your Adsense revenue and especially if advertisers are bidding for your real-estate space. People pay good money to be told what I am sharing with you in this article but I feel if your willing to practice and learn to do all the work yourself, you deserve to move up the latter. You deserve to earn the most revenue you can from the Adsense publisher program. Just keep practicing and follow my the instructions above. Keep going through the motions because all of a sudden you will understand it.

I will be adding to this Hub in the future. As I learn, grow and continue to increase my Adsense revenue I will add more information and instructions. Today's date 3/31/10. I made 65 channels targetable today. All of a sudden I get it. I worked hard to create good quality websites, I strategically place Adsense Ad and Link Units onto my websites and now I wait. I will come back in a few weeks to share with you lucky Hubbers how I do. I watched many videos about advertisers bidding on real-estate space and from what I gathered I will wait 30 days because now Google Adsense will be evaluating my websites stats then they introduce the targetable channels to advertisers. I'll be back with the results. I am the research girl.

Hi SandySpider,

I was real bad at Adsense too but over time I got better. It took me at least a year to understand it enough to even write about it. Speak with you soon and I'll let you know what the month brings.

Hi Eileen,

I just wrote you too. Yes, I'm trying real hard to figure it out once and for all. I also created a few topics in the Forum section under Hubpages Knowledge Exchange. I found some vital information about Competitive Ad Filters. I understand it now and I added 200 websites. I've tried it before but didn't quit get it then. I get it now. Have a great night.

Hi trose,

It took me a long time to understand why it can benefit us for creating target channels. All in due time, right?

I'm curious on the output of this idea. Did it really increase you earnings? Did you rename the Channel titles according to the keywords targeted on your sites? Or just descriptions?

Hi Mikeandrew,

Yes, it has made a positive difference to my revenue. I personally gave each channel a name. I would write, ATF (above the fold which means top of the page) for an example. This tells the advertisers where I placed the Ad unit or Link unit on my webpage. If you receive a lot of views and the Advertisers see that they will bid a little bit higher.
